Starts the show with a selfie.

This is a normal mid-sized tradeshow.

Perhaps on the smaller size.

There were only a smaller number of larger booths.

Probably only about 20 larger booths total.

Only one booth was selling English learning. This indicates either no opportunity, or huge opportunity. I am still not sure because English penetration is Russia is even less than China. The signage is not in English and it was tough finding even rudimentary speakers.

China was present (of course).

Venezuela

I haven’t really seen them at any other shows.

University Publishers are here as well.

I am always glad to see educational publishers.

Cuba is their friend.

This is billed as a Non-Fiction show

As you will see, it was all genres.

Always glad to see government spending.

Disney licensing is global!

I still don’t think I know how to pronounce this.

I tried to speak to them..

But I think their books were stolen. Smile.

The Frankfurt Book Fair is everywhere.

So was France…

Where is the USA? (not present)

Always glad to see libraries at these shows.

Korea printing…

Subway Reading

I like the tablet next to the paper.. It’s about 50/50 on the Metro. The Metro signage is not very good. I always breathed a sigh of relief when I got to my destination correctly.

Turkey is really on the book fair circuit.

They are on our radar for 2015.

People walking to the fair.

I love books and I like people that like books. I am always glad to see very good attendance at the book shows because it bodes well for our industry.

Conclusion

• We will monitor Russia, but with the Ukraine crisis and the lack of English, we do not see it as a market for the foreseeable future.
