You will interview that person and then when everyone is done, you will introduce them to the class.

Name cards I am a visual learner and will learn your names

quicker if I can see your name next to you.

We will use the card stock to make name cards that I want you to put out in front of you for the first week.

Also, please put your name on one side of the popsicle sticks. I will use these to call on students and for activities throughout the school year.

Day 2 Opening Assignment

Learning Styles Survey

What type of learner are you?

Visual, Auditory, or Tactile / Kinesthetic

Learning Styles Key Points Own who you are and how you learn best Be proactive – if you are not understanding a

concept take responsibility and do your own research to understand it using visual, auditory, or kinesthetic resources.

Be courteous . . .some people need more explanation and time than others to get a concept. Don’t be disrespectful when this happens.

If you are not being challenged in my class I want to know it!! Learning can be fun and challenging at the same time . . .this is my goal for my classes so don’t feel like you will hurt my feelings if you need more rigor.

Next week We will start next week with a semester pretest

to help me collect data on what you are already proficient in and what you need the most help with. It will be entered in eSembler with a Zero weight so it will not count.

After the pretest we will start notes on Unit 1 – the Nature and Process of Scientific Investigations so be sure you have your notebook ready to go.
