The Aquinas girls’ team,which is the defendingstate D3 champion, out-pointed McDonald to cap-ture the Spartan teamcrown with 73 points.McDonald was second with95 points.

Leading St. Thomaswere the Soehnlen sistersof Kalee Soehnlen (5th,19:36), Hannah Soehnlen(13th, 20:20.1) and KaceeSoehnlen (16th, 20:34.6).Aquinas’ other runnerswere Hannah Ohman(18th, 20:34.6), RyleyKling (21st , 20:40.3),Nata l ie Vinci (87th,23:19.3) and Liz Wheeler(108th, 23:49.5).

Also, in the D3 girls’race, Western Reserve’sAshleigh Rowley was theindividual runner-up in atime of 19:14.8.

“I know my second-fastest (time ever) is a19:11,” said Rowley whowas pleased with her effortat Boardman. “(Lookingahead) it does make me feelgood because it definitelybuilds up your confidence.My goal is to get to stateand be one of the top run-ners there.”

Meanwhile, the Aquinasboys’ team was runner-upin the D3 boys’ divisionwith 73 points. Maplewoodwon the team title with 61points.
