John 0. Giliberii, 81, husbandof Antoinette TumminelliGiliberti of Starr Ridge Rd.,Brewster, died suddenly at theGood Samaritan Hospital, WestPalm Beach, Fla.

He was born Aug. 10, 1899, inPartana, Sicily, son of the lateJoseph and Mary Piazza Giliberti.He had lived in the Brewster areasince 1944 and was a winterresident of West Palm Beachsince 1956. He was a member ofSt. Lawrence OToole Church inBrewster and attended St. Ann'sChurch in West Palm Beach.

Besides his wife, he is survived

by three sons, Dr. JosephGiliberti of Rockford, 111., PaulGiliberti of Poughquag, N.Y., andJohn F. Giliberti of West PalmBeach, Fla.; a daughter, Mrs.Marie Troha of Brewster, and 14grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial tookplace in St. Lawrence OTooleChurch, Brewster. Burial was inSt. Lawrence Cemetery,Brewster.

Arrangements were under thedirection of the Beecher FuneralHome, 1 Putnam Terrace,Brewster.

FLORENCE BEALMrs. Florence L. S. Beal,80, of

Tonetta Lake Park, Brewster,widow of W. Ross Beal Sr., diedyesterday at the home of herdaughter, Mrs. Mallory Stephensof Mount Kisco, N.Y. after a briefillness.

She was born Aug. 1, 1900, inNewark, N.J., a daughter of thelate William B. and Florence CoxSimms. As a young woman, Mrs.Beal was a model for severalartist-illustrators in Westport.She lived in Brewster since 1919.

Mrs. Beal served with theAmerican Red Cross for a numberof years. During World War II,she was a nurses' aide atNorthern Westchester Hospital,and later was a staff assistant forthe Putnam County Chapter ofthe Red Cross. She was also amember of the Blood Donors'Gallon Club.

Mrs. Beal was a chartermember of the American LegionAuxiliary, as well as the Order of

the Eastern Star, Brewster. Shewas also a member of St.Andrew's Episcopal Church andSt. Andrew's Ladies Auxiliary.

Besides her daughter of MountKisco, she is survived by a son,William Ross Beal Jr. of Boise,Idaho; two daughters, Mrs. NeilBlackwood and Mrs. Paul E.Peckham, both of Brewster, asister, Mrs. Elbert D. White ofScarsdale; seven grandchildren;four great-grandchildren; andseveral nieces and nephews.

The funeral was at St.Andrew's Espiscopal Church,Brewster. The Rev. Basil G. Law,officiated.

Burial was in Milltown RuralCemetery, Brewster.

UMW planning

April meetingsThe executive committee ot tne

United Methodist Women of theFirst United Methodist Church ofBrewster will meet Tuesday,April 21, at 9:15 a.m.

UMW members will attend acommunity UMC in Poughkeep-sie on April 25 from 10 a.m. to 2p.m. Cars will leave the church at9 a.m. and those attending areasked to bring a bible, a penciland lunch. Notify Barbara Kirk ifyou wish to attend.

Gertrude Hazzard will lead aprogram on Latin American en-titled "The Cry of My People" atthe UMW meeting April 28 at7:30 p.m. The meeting is open toall.

Dawn service

At dawn services will take placeat 5 a.m. Easter Sunday at Dr.Marshall Hoag's Croton HeadFarm atop Quaker Hill inPawling, the highest point in thearea. The service, sponsored byChrist Church on Quaker Hill, willfeature music by the ChristChurch singers. Dr. GordonPowell will bring the message on"The Strange Inscription onthe Cross." All are welcome toparticipate.

Services set atCroton Falls

The Croton Falls BaptistChurch will conduct a MaundyThursday communion service at 8p.m. in the church, it wasannounced by the Rev. Edwin F.Weeks, pastor.

The Baptist Women willconduct a bake sale April 16 at theCroton Falls Post Office. The saleof cakes, pies, cookies and fudgewill start at 9 a.m. Funds will beused for the church kitchen fund.

On Easter Sunday there will bea sunrise service at 6 a.m.,followed by coffee, juice and rollsat the church parsonage. TheEaster worship service will be at11 a.m. with Pastor Weekspreaching on "I am; Then, Now,Forever."

April 26 will be BaptistWomen's Sunday at the CrotonFalls Church.

Social in Garrison

Beginning on Holy Thursday,April 16, services will be held at10 a.m. and 8 p.m. Thesacrament of holy communion willbe celebrated at-troth services inremembrance of the night somany years ago when Jesus firstinstituted the Last Supper. At theconclusion of the 8 p.m. service,the altar will be-stripped of alladornments in preparation forGood Friday.

On Good Friday, April 17, aservice with a special liturgy w^'be celebrated at 8 p.m.

The Widows and WidowersGroup will meet Sunday, April 26,at the Trinity Lutheran Church onRte. 6, between Carmel andBrewster. The meeting will befrom 2 to 5 p.m.
