Methods of brand expansion:

Radio stationThere is the opportunity to incorporate a radio station into the magazine brand,Because:

• It fits into the interests of the target audience

• It’s included in existing music magazine brands like mine, such as Kerrang and NME.

• It is relatable to the context of the magazine.

TV music channelThere is the opportunity to incorporate a TV music channel into the magazine brand, Because:

• It relates to the topic of the magazine, of music

• It can act as a form of advertising for the brand, and can also generate the company some income through advertising.

• Existing brands have also done this, such as Kerrang TV, and also Bauer media own rights in 4Music.

WebsiteI also have the opportunity to expand my brand into a website. The benefits of this would be:• To advertise the brand and gain

more recognition, therefore more sales

• To promote external events from the brand

• To generate extra income through advertising

• Also the majority of music magazine brands have their own websites, including Kerrang, NME, Top of the pops, and many more, so it doesn’t depend on the genre.

OtherOther methods of expansion include:

• Iphone apps

• Android apps

• Events

• Tour ticket sales as an external site on the page.

These are all additional features that existing brands use, including NME and Kerrang which are magazines that are very similar to mine.

Conclusion Overall I have the opportunity to expand my music magazine brand through many methods, that are also used by existing music magazines, mainly being NME and Kerrang, which are two very similar magazines to mine.

These expansions includes:• TV music channel• Radio station• Website• Android app• iPhone app• Ticket sales site• Organised tours
