Over the last five years, we have invested significantly in

Western Australia by building more than 170 new base stations.

This investment into the state is set to continue with more than

50 new sites being built over the coming 12 months. Our

coverage footprint will further expand providing Optus users

with more locations so they can stay in touch whilst on the

move in the state.

Check out some of the facts:

• Reaching over 91% of the Wester Australia’s Population

• Covering more than 41,000 square kilometres of landmass

• Significant roll-out now underway

Our commitment to South Australia in recent years is reflected

by our investment of over $90M since 2000. We have added

significant footprint to our network providing wider coverage

and greater competition across the state. In addition to the

increase in our coverage, we have focussed on enhancing depth

of coverage in Adelaide and providing capacity for today and

into the future.

Check out some of the facts:

• Reaching over 97% of the South Australia’s Population

• Covering more than 62,000 square kilometres of landmass

• More than 1,600 kilometres of highway coverage

In Victoria, the Optus GSM Network has you covered. We’ve

invested significantly in the state to provide greater competition

across Victoria not only on price and service, but for great

network coverage. This investment has seen Optus’ landmass

coverage in Victoria double since we commenced advanced roll-

out in 2000. With great city, country and highway coverage, the

Optus GSM network will keep you in touch.

Check out some of the facts:

• Reaching over 99% of the Victorian Population

• Covering more than 165,000 square kilometre of landmass

• More than 4,000 kilometres of highway coverage

Our Queensland engineers are all passionate about our great

network and in recent years have worked tirelessly on building

a network that not only reaches more Queenslanders than

ever before, but also enhances our depth of coverage for

greater customer satisfaction. So whether you are living or

visiting the sunny state, you too can enjoy great GSM Coverage

from Optus.

Check out some of the facts:

• Reaching over 96% of the Queensland Population

• Covering more than 170,000 square kilometres of landmass

• More than 3,800 kilometres of highway coverage

Optus Mobile

Going Further

With a network of over 4,200 base stations across Australia, the Optus

Mobile Network reaches more than 96% of the Australian population

across an area totalling more than 600,000 square kilometres of the

Great Southern Land.

The Optus Mobile Network has evolved over the last 13 years,

expanding its footprint to reach more and more Australians and

offering greater competition in regional areas. Representing an

investment of over $2.5 billion, our robust network connects more than

170 million calls per week and maintains outstanding performance.

We hear you loud and clear

At Optus, we value customer feedback – in fact it is a vital part of our

network planning. That is why we have a 24 hour Coverage Hotline:

1300 300 041. You can also provide feedback online at

www.optus.com.au/coverage

What you should know about these maps

Optus prepares these maps to the highest of standards, using the latest

available data and techniques to map the Optus Mobile Network. The

map shows the general extent of the network as at March 2006 and

planned coverage based on roll-out schedules as at March 2006.

Planned coverage is subject to change without notice. Our Mobile

Technical Support Team can provide up to date information regarding

the roll-out schedule if required.

As with any network based on radio technology, local conditions may

prevent or interfere with mobile reception within coverage areas. For

example, inside concrete buildings, lift wells, basements, tunnels, road

cuttings and high rise buildings. Some building materials such as

metal roofs can also reduce signal penetration. These maps show “On

Street” and “Car Kit” coverage and

are not an indication of in building

coverage levels.

For further information, please

support Team on 1300 300 041.12
