CELEBRATE THE SAVIOR
Easter Series - The Greatest Week in History “When Your Savior Lives”
What exactly did Jesus predict?
Matt 12:38-40; John 2:18 – 21; Matthew 16:21; Matt 27:62 When did all this happen? Around 30 A.D.
For a period of 40 days Acts 1:3 When were the gospels written? Matthew – between AD 50 and AD 70 – 20 to 40 years later
Mark – disciple of Peter – AD 55 and AD 70 – 25 to 40 years later Luke – Before AD 62 – no later than 32 years later
John – between AD 80 and AD 90 – between 50 and 70 years later Who saw Jesus alive after the resurrection? Mary Magdalene alone - John 20:11-18
“The other Mary,” Salome, Joanna, and others, - Matthew 28:1-10 Simon Peter alone - Luke 24:34; 1 Cor. 15:5.
The 2 disciples on the way to Emmaus - Luke 24:13-35. The 10 disciples (Thomas being absent) and others “with them,” at Jerusalem -
John 20:19-24. The 11 disciples (Thomas being present) at Jerusalem - Mark 16:14-18; Luke 24:33-40;
John 20:26-28.
The disciples when fishing at the Sea of Galilee - John 21:1-23.
The 11 disciples and over 500 brethren in Galilee - 1 Cor. 15:6. James, His brother - 1 Cor. 15:7.
The apostles immediately before the ascension. - Mark 16:19; Luke 24:50-52; Acts 1:4-10. Paul at Damascus, who speaks of it as an appearance of the risen Savior - Acts 9:3-9, 17;
1 Cor. 15:8; 9:1. What are the non-biblical accounts? Non-Biblical Pagan Accounts
o Thallus (52AD); Tacitus (56-120AD); Tacitus (56-120AD); Mara Bar-Serapion (70AD); Phlegon (80-140AD); Pliny the Younger (61-113AD); Suetonius (69-140AD); Lucian of Samosata: (115-200 A.D.); Celsus (175AD)
Non-Biblical Jewish Accounts o Josephus (37-101AD); Jewish Talmud (400-700AD); The Toledot Yeshu
(1000AD);
They all say the same thing o These disciples told others that Jesus was resurrected and ascended into
heaven. o The disciples were persecuted for their faith and were martyred without
changing their claims. So Did Jesus keep His word? Look at the eyewitness evidence.
The disciples gave up their social and economic security and put their lives on the line in order to proclaim that Jesus had risen.
Many will die for what they believe is true, but no one is willing to be tortured to death for what they know is a lie.
The only real conclusion is that Jesus rose from the dead. What does it mean when your savior lives?
1. Death is not the end. 2. There is more to salvation than just staying out of hell. 3. John 3:16-18 and Romans 10:9 are true.

Dimes for Missions
The purpose of this program is to keep missions before us all year long and not just a couple times a year. Money collected is divided between US and foreign missions. FBC mails out checks monthly to these missions.
When you drop a dime in the bread box you are remembering our church mission programs.
What about your mission in Clover?
Update: Thank you to all who have
donated items so far. It is
greatly appreciated. This is an

NORTH AMERICAN MISSIONS
From the Sunday School Director...
In last Sunday’s “Explore the Bible”
lesson the community of followers
prayed together and devoted
themselves to prayer. In our Thursday night study on “The
Prayers of Jesus”, Jesus often prayed
alone and with His disciples. The
point was that Jesus prayed to keep
Himself centered on His mission.
How much time do we spend in
prayer each day?
Please mark your calendars for another incredible ladies fellowship on Thursday,
April 28, 2016. Tickets will go on sale April 3rd. For advance tickets, please call
Jo Ann Clary at 803-222-7517. Spread the word and invite all of your friends!
Our guest speaker, Ruth McWhite, is sure to bless you through testimony and her love
for the Word of Jesus Christ.
Ruth is originally from Greer, SC, where she grew up at First
Baptist Church. She and her husband, Allen, have pastored
churches in Manning, Spartanburg and Taylors, SC. They
also served two terms with the IMB in Ecuador.
She is currently the Director of Women’s ministries at North
Greenville University. She has a great passion to see women
come into a relationship with Christ and then grow in that
relationship through the knowledge of His Word.
She makes her home in Travelers Rest, SC. She is the mother of five children, but is
down to only one child living at home! However, her family is multiplying, as three
children have married wonderful spouses and have provided seven precious
grandchildren! So life is full and good in the McWhite household!
Looking for Nursery Volunteers!
Do you love children? Would you like to invest some time in a ministry that is guaranteed to bring you joy and laughter? Be blessed by contacting Lindsey Hoffecker at 803-620-2454 or email at candlhoffecker@yahoo.com
