Scrolls• A scroll is a roll of papyrus,

parchment, or paper containing writing.

• First form of editable record keeping texts.

• History dates back to ancient Egypt.

• Oldest complete Torah scroll was recently discovered on May 2013.

Manuscript• A manuscript is any document written by hand, as opposed to being printed or reproduced in some other way.• Before the arrival of painting, all documets and books were manuscripts.•Manuscripts may be in book form, scrolls or in codex format.

Alphabet

• First pure alphabets emerged around 2000 BC in Ancient Egypt.

• Alphabetic principles had already been incorporated into Egyptian hieroglyphs.

Introduction of printing press

• A printing press is a device for evenly printing ink onto a print medium (substrate) such as paper or cloth. The device applies pressure to a print medium that rests on an inked surface made of movable type, thereby transferring the ink.

INTERNET• The Internet is a global system of interconnected computer

networks that use the standard Internet protocol suite(TCP/IP) to link several billion devices worldwide.

• It is an international network of networks that consists of millions of private, public, academic, business, and government packet switched networks, linked by a broad array of electronic, wireless, and optical networking technologies.

• The Internet carries an extensive range of information resources and services, such as the inter-linked hypertext documents and applications of the World Wide Web (WWW), the infrastructure to support email, and peer-to-peer networks for file sharing and telephony.

Upgradation

• There was an upgradation in the mediums of communication after the introduction of internet:

• Textual Medium of Communication: Emails instead of letters.

• Verbal Medium of Communication: Video Chats instead of telephones.

Social Networking Service• Social Networking Service is a platform to build

social networks or social relations among people who shares interests, activities, background or real-life connections.

• Social Networks are web-based services that allow individuals to create a public profile, to create a list of users with whom to share connections, and view and cross the connections within the system.
