The ‘Meadow’Photos and art work
by P3/4
We sketched the flowers,
grasses, leaves and
plants in the school
‘Meadow’.
Everybody took a photo of a plant or flower that
they particularly liked.
We also spotted several insects crawling and flying in the Meadow.
We talked about the colours.
The petals and leaves had interesting shapes and patterns.
Our photos and sketches helped
us to think about these shapes and colours in
our art work.
We started drawing with crayon and
coloured pencil.
We built up our collage in layers using different art materials.
Some people tore the paper to create different effects.
Others experimented with scrunched up tissue paper.
Folding and bending the papers also added texture to our
pictures.
By not sticking everything down flat, we made our collages look
real.
Felt tip pen was good for adding detail to flowers.
