Reservoir Recap
OOIP 375 – 675 MMSTB
Estimated recoverable amount 150 - 270 MMSTB
Carbonate Reservoir with heavy oil
Limestone/Dolomite Reservoir
Drill through Limestone/Shale
Drilling Location
Horizontal Section perpendicular to fault
Red dot indicates heel with toe towards fault
Target Zone
• Net pay average 29’• Set target depth at TVD-2273’• Reports of fluid circulation
around 1600’ from other wells
Pressure Window After our target zone had been selected we then
had to plan on our drilling fluids and weight. Doing so we analyzed our sonic logs to create our pressure window. For pore pressure we assumed 0.465 psi/ft.
Cement design
Use standard 16 lb/gal cement
5% silica fume to guarantee strength
10% fly ash to increase workability
0% free water content present
183 bbl of cement or 123 Mlbs
Density should not have a difference exceeding 0.5 lb/gal throughout mixture.
Casing design
Horizontal well with open hole style completion.
Suitable for production and injection purposes.
1. 16” conductor (65 lb/ft H-40) 0’-60’
2. 10.75” Surface Casing (32.75 lb/ft H-40) MD 0’-1700’
3. 8.625” Intermediate Casing (28 lb/ft H-40) MD 0’-2600’
4. 6.5” Open Hole Lateral MD 2600’-5900’
Drill bit program Designed simultaneously with casing
Roller-cone style bits to maximize ft/hr penetration.
Steel teeth with sealed bearing best for lithology.
1. 14.75” bit 60’-1700’
2. 9.5” bit 1700’-2600’
3. 6.5” bit 2600’-5900’

Final Price
As our AFE reported our well will have a final cost of approximately $1,050,000 dollars.
Infrastructure pricing to access the well was not taken into consideration.
