PHOTOGRAPHY IS THE LIFEBLOOD OF OUR BRAND. WE HAVE PUT TOGETHER A DOCUMENT OF CONCEPTS AND GUIDELINES TO INSPIRE AND HELP YOU CAPTURE THE BRAND ACCURATELY. THIS IS YOUR HOLY SCRIPTURE. USE IT WISELY.

PHOTONEST 2015

WHAT IS THE YACHT WEEK?

JOIN YOUR CLOSEST FRIENDS IN MAGNIFICENT LOCATIONS, CREATING UNFORGETABLE MOMENTS.

SHARED EXPERIENCE.

THE YACHT WEEK MIXES LIKE-MINDED PEOPLE FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD IN A WEEK WHERE FRIENDSHIPS ARE FORGED, IDEAS SHARED AND MEMORIES CREATED.

SAILING. PARTIES.EMOTION.

CANNOT BE EXPLAINED. MUST BE EXPERIENCED.

FEELING. STATE OF BEING.

INSIDER TIPS.THINGS TO CONSIDER AT ALL TIMES WHEN SHOOTING ON THE YACHT WEEK.

1FILTERING SCALE WHEN CHOOSING A CREW TO SAIL WITH – ON-BRAND CUSTOMERS. Stylish & Cool.

– SHOOT NATIONALITIES THAT ARE UNDERPERFORMING IN SALES.

French, Swedish, German, Asian, South American. Make sure there is cultural diversity in the crews you choose to sail with.

NO NOES.Americans and Australian.

– BALANCED RATIO BETWEEN GUYS AND GIRLS.

1FILTERING SCALE WHEN CHOOSING A CREW TO SAIL WITH

As a photographer on TYW you won’t have a team of stylists and art directors with you so it is vital you pick up on (mainly remove) the uneccesary objects in order to have a clean set. Some things just can’t be fixed in Photoshop and it will save you a lot of effort in the long run if you look for everything while you’re shooting. And remember...clean yachtliness is next to godliness.

WATCH OUT FOR...• Distasteful clothing• Beer cans• Hanging fenders• Cigarettes• Clothes/towels drying• Rubbish

2 THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAIL2 THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAIL

Our principal use of images is web formats and social media in which LANDSCAPE imagery is king. This is not a fashion show (debatable) and/or the primary use of our images is not for editorial use, so please try and keep your frame landscape when possible. Leave space for space.

COMMUNICATION IS KEY

VARIETY IS THE SPICE OF LIFE

REST WHEN YOU CAN

The more relaxed your crew is, the easier it is to capture more evoking images with real emotion.

Sail with a different crew every day to capture variety and interact with more guests.

Don’t exert yourself too much in the beginning of the week! You’ll regret it if on the last two days you can’t keep your eyes open.
