Protect the informal and low density patternof development by resisting further infill developments and protecting the rural margins and the agricultural setting.

Encourage the sensitive redevelopment or enhancement of the former Congregational Church, former Garage site and the Community Hall by securing high quality design and the appropriate use of traditional materials.

Protect important views of the surrounding countryside and the Cotswold Scarp and resist development that would further reduce the extent of the Recreation Ground or adversely affect its setting.

To help preserve the rural and traditionalcharacter of the Pucklechurch Conservation Area, an Article 4(2) Direction could be served on properties within the conservation area boundary. The purpose of this would be to remove the permitted development rights that currently allow certain alterations to properties and boundaries to be undertaken without the need for planningpermission. Although considered ‘minor’ operations, unsympathetic extensions, alterations and other minor developments can have a significant and negative effect on character and appearance and so need to be controlled.

Seek to reduce the adverseimpact of traffic and parkingon the historic village and ensure traffic managementmeasures, street furniture and highway works are appropriate and sensitiveto the historic character.

Encourage retention, maintenance and, where necessary, repair of boundary walls that make a positive contribution to the character or appearance of the conservation area.

Protect views to the skyline. Ensure development does not encroach/detract from views.

Secure enhancements and improvements where necessary to boundary treatments

Areas of traffic congestion and parking

Important public open space

Opportunity for sensitive redevelopment

Protect the informal and low density pattern of development and the rural setting of Moat House and The Grey House

Resist any further infill developments within the boundary of the conservation area that would harm the setting of historic properties or detract from the remaining open spaces.
