Spaghetti By Shel Silverstein

Spaghetti, spaghetti, all over the place, Up to my elbows--up to my face, Over the carpet and under the chairs, Into the hammock and wound round the stairs, Filling the bathtub and covering the desk, Making the sofa a mad mushy mess. The party is ruined, I'm terribly worried, The guests have all left (unless they're all buried). I told them, "Bring presents.” I said, "Throw confetti." I guess they heard wrong 'Cause they all threw spaghetti!

A spaghetti feed with my friends was just the birthday party I wanted. I guess I put too many noodles in the pan because next thing I knew, spaghetti was everywhere! “I need to have this cleaned up before my mom sees!” I quickly thought.   First, the spaghetti was a slippery mess on the kitchen floor and it was spreading quickly. The next thing I knew it was on the carpet. My friends started to scream because the spaghetti was beginning to cover them on the couch, making the living room a mushy mess!   After that, I hear my mother yelling for help. When I run to the bathroom to see what is wrong all I can see is the spaghetti filled bathtub and my little brother’s hands in the air holding a rubber ducky. The spaghetti buried him while he was taking a bath!   “Oh no,” I nervously thought, “this birthday party is ruined and it’s all my fault.” I decided to try and make the best of the party. So I ran to the living room and shouted, “Let’s open presents and throw confetti!” My friends must have heard me wrong because instead of throwing confetti they only threw spaghetti!

Blake: I’m staving! Birthday Boy: Me too! You can play video games in the living room while I go help my mom. Mom: Your brother is a mess from playing outside in the dirt. I need to bathe him real quick. Birthday Boy: You have nothing to worry about I’ll just get the spaghetti started.   *Birthday Boy starts to cook*   Birthday Boy: Oh no! There’s spaghetti everywhere…. Blake: It’s a mess in here! There’s spaghetti all over the couch! Mom: Help! My baby is covered in noodles! I can only see his hands and that yellow rubber ducky! Birthday Boy: Guys, lets just try and forget about the mess, open presents and throw some confetti! Blake: Instead let’s have a spaghetti fight!
