The photo was shot on a special day which called "Dragon‐Raise‐Head Day" in China. Kaifeng city was an ancient capital of seven dynasties which followed many folk traditions. On that 

day, people will get together to pray for fortune. I was touched by the crowd which showed desire on their face, not hope. Waht they wanted were granted, so they were not devout 

indeed.
