Welcome toEGEUS 2017
Dear Friends and Colleagues,EUS has emerged as an invaluable modality for diagnosis and treatment of various mediastinal, lung, GI and pancreaticobiliary disorders and its indications are rapidly expanding. Newer technology innovations are quickly taking place and it is imperative for a modern endoscopist to keep abreast of the latest advances. The 7th European EUS Congress, EGEUS 2017 in Turin will provide cutting edge information about the appropriate utilization and ongoing research in EUS. There will be Live Demonstrations for 2 half-days showing basic and advanced interventional EUS procedures as well as a comprehensive series of interactive round tables and presentations. There will be a Learning Centre with videos and simulators for basic and advanced EUS procedures. Participants will have the opportunity to present their research and videos at the Congress.Last but not least this EGEUS 2017 in Turin is the first congress of a new era of cooperation and partnership between EGEUS and ESGE. This relationship has begun this year and will be witnessed by the presence of the ESGE President, Thierry Ponchon, who will open the second day of the meeting. The aim of this Congress is to provide the tools for learning the possibilities of diagnostic and interventional EUS as well as the new therapeutic and diagnostic capabilities of EUS preceded or followed by ERCP (EUS with or without FNA, IntraDuctal UltraSound – IDUS, Extraductal UltraSound – EDUS). All this together with the new diagnostic and therapeutic ancillary techniques including newly developed devices such as peroral cholangioscopy and pancreatoscopy and confocal endomicroscopy as well as the correct use of new concept stents such as luminal apposition devices and the new protoypes in the field of the EURCP concept. Participants will be given the opportunity to learn from a theoretical point of view the indications, techniques and see new devices in the field of GI neoplasia staging and biliopancreatic diagnosis, staging as well as interventions by means of several interactive round tables, lectures, discussions and video presentations. They will be give the possiblity to see the same procedures and devices applied in almost 6 hours of live clinical cases in 3 Live Rooms with the opportunity of direct interaction between the audience and well-known experts from many countries.

The Mole antonelliana is a major landmark building in Turin, Italy, named after its architect, Alessandro Antonelli. A mole in Italian is a building of monumental proportions. Construction began in 1863, soon after Italian unification and was completed in 1889 after the architect’s death. Originally conceived of as a synagogue, it now houses the Museo nazionale del Cinema and is the tallest museum in the world.
The Museo Egizio is the only museum other than the Cairo Museum that is dedicated solely to Egyptian art and culture. Many international scholars spend much time pouring over the collections since the decipherer of Egyptian hieroglyphs Jean-François Champollion came to Turin in 1824.
Meeting Venueand City Tips
