Founders Park

Purdue University

When people think about Purdue, they usually picture a campus with green trees, red brick buildings, various parks, as well as a black-and-gold color scheme.

As a member of The Big Ten, Purdue well respected for it’s education and entertainment by students all over the world.

Founders Park

In 1994, a new Liberal Arts and Education building began construction . Located in front of this building, a new park was designed and built named Founders Park.

Founders Park has a rectangular layout and consists of beautiful green trees, the Loeb Fountain, stone tables and benches.

In honor of the people who played crucial role in founding and shaping Purdue in its difficult early years, Founders Park is located in the heart of the original campus.

A plaque installed in the area near the Loeb Fountain lists the representatives of those people, including students, faculty members, trustees, benefactors and administrators who helped form Purdue.

Studying in Nature

It is serene here in the morning. You can only hear birds singing and the friction of leaves as a breeze passes.

Students can read and do homework here alone or with friends .

Refreshing Fun

Participating in a fountain run is a tradition for Purdue students.

Fortunately, we have Loeb Fountain that provides clear cool water and enough space to play.

BBQ at the Fountain side

Occasionally, there is also a BBQ booth just at the side of fountain, providing refreshing snacks and beverages.

Founders Park adds some new identity to Purdue

Founders Park is not only a place for commemoration and student service; it is also for families and residents in West Lafayette to enjoy their day.

A fun time for families and children

Families prefer gathering here to enjoy sunny afternoons. You can always hear children’s excited laughing throughout the park.

Kids run through the fountain, chasing each other happily. Some parents also go into fountain, playing with their children .

Founders Park absolutely reflects the traditional identity of Purdue as a campus of education and entertainment for students both here and abroad.
