“The Rebuild Texas Fund team shows up and they listen to what we need. They have helped us in

more ways than we could have imagined.”— Sharon McKinney, Superintendent, Port Aransas Independent School District

“One thing we’ve experienced over the last year is this: banding together in the face of adversity makes the impossible possible.”

“Over the past year, the Rebuild Texas Fund has been instrumental in helping Texans in all impacted counties rebuild

and recover. I am proud of the work the Rebuild Texas Fund has accomplished,

and remain committed to working together as rebuilding continues.”

— Michael & Susan Dell

— Governor Greg Abbott

412-Month Progress Report | August 2018

The Rebuild Texas Fund, a collaborative project of the Michael & Susan Dell Foundation and the OneStar Foundation, raised $100 million to support rebuilding efforts in communities shattered by Hurricane Harvey in August 2017. Funding through the Rebuild Texas Fund is provided to eligible nonprofit, government, corporate, and philanthropic organizations working on the ground in impacted Texas communities. The Rebuild Texas Fund works hand in hand with local community leaders to identify priorities and needs and to provide financial support, expertise, and resources across six critical focus areas.

A TEXAS-SIZED RESPONSEThanks to your support, the inaugural year for Rebuild Texas Fund has been an extraordinary one. The bold idea for the fund was born while the rain from Hurricane Harvey was still falling. The goal was ambitious: to channel the incredible outpouring of generosity from around the country and provide the resources and energy required to quickly get our neighbors on the path back to normalcy. These donated resources are at work accelerating local rebuilding and revitalization efforts and supporting thousands of Texas families and communities.

Hurricane Harvey devastated close to 900 of our small businesses. Today, more than 80% have reopened and are creating nearly $60 million in revenue each month. That would have been impossible without Rebuild Texas Fund’s support and partnership. We are so grateful for their dedication and passion for helping communities. — Diane Probst, President/CEO Rockport-Fulton Chamber of Commerce
