Re: Request for Proposal: Professional Services: Building Assessments
Dear Mr. Poprik:
It is with pleasure that Hoff man Leakey Architects LLC and our selected professional consultants submit
to you our experience and qualifi ca$ ons for selec$ on as your professionals in evalua$ ng both the former
Fairmount High School and Ni! any Avenue Administra$ on Building. We have assembled a local team
comprised of various disciplines to develop a comprehensive overview of the exis$ ng condi$ ons of both
buildings.
As project leader, I will be the primary contact for this assessment and also will be primary spokesman when
presenta$ ons are required by the team.
As you will note in our presenta$ on, various members of the team have performed previous reports for the
State College School District as members of the Facili$ es Commi! ee and as design professions appointed
by the District to evaluate Fairmount Avenue. It should be noted that we intend to set aside those studies
for a moment and start with a fresh mind as to present condi$ ons. Both buildings have played a strong role
in the history of State College and are within a strong dynamic area of the Borough.
To provide a clear and impar$ al overview of the present condi$ ons, I have assembled the following
disciplines:
An Architectural Team assembled from Hoff man Leakey Architects.
A structural team comprised of two local structural fi rms.
A Construc$ on Management fi rm with extensive construc$ on and management experience
A Hazardous material abatement fi rm
This team can supply important informa$ on based upon their profession as well as construc$ on and
renova$ on experience.
Finally, we understand that our report must address the condi$ ons in a clean precise manner and shall
provide the District with a document in which important school and community decisions can be made. We
feel our team is qualifi ed to perform this task and welcome your support by choosing us as your professionals.
We thank you for the opportunity of presen$ ng our qualifi ca$ ons and support your eff orts in this study
Sincerely
Robert H. Hoff man AIA LEED AP

Site/Building Analysis Initial exploration and analysis of site and building conditions including: architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical and site/civil for potential re-use considerations. Studies of this nature do not always continue into built form but allow for owner review to determine project feasibility. Planning Master planning, urban design, with emphasis upon regional planning. Land development planning assists owners in recognizing and interfacing their design with the local and regional planning agencies. Interior Design/Space Planning Programming, space planning, budget and cost estimating, selection and specification of furniture and furnishings. Specific Function Studies Small scale studies relating to subjects such as ADA (American Disabilities Act), life safety, and zoning requirements. In order to keep pace with our clients’ needs we offer the following services: Contract drawings are developed utilizing AutoCAD, Revit and 3D modeling software. Specifications are developed from an office master based on the CSI Master Format. In conclusion, we listen to our client's needs, we create unique design options, and we provide strong support during the construction process.
