The Lost Colony

During July 1587 the first colony of men, women and children set up at Fort Raleigh. They were led by John white the governor of the new colony.

The captain of the ship , Simon Fernandez ,had already been to America.

History of Roanoke Colony

The Roanoke Colony on Roanoke Island in Dare County in present-day NC was an enterprise financed and organized by Sir Walter Raleigh. It was carried out by Ralph Lane and Richard Greenville in the late 16th century . Between 1585 and 1587 several attempted to establish a colony , but either abandoned the settlement or died. The fate is still unknown!
