Sacred Heart Catholic Church Fourteenth Sunday of Ordinary Time ~ July 5, 2020
Reflection from the Stewardship Office:
Without a doubt, discipleship is an incredibly active duty. Because
of this, we can easily get caught up in the idea that we must constantly be
working and that it is up to us alone to make our mission successful.
WRONG. First of all, remember you are empowered by the Holy Spirit to
do God’s work — the success of the work is not up to you alone. Second,
sometimes it is necessary to slow down and let God take over. Jesus says:
“Take my yoke upon you and learn from me…For my yoke is easy, and my
burden light.” These times of pandemic and social unrest can be quite tiring
for the missionary disciples who are still trying to spread the Good News.
Sometimes we need to rest and recharge and let Jesus show us the most
effective way to do the work of His Father. Spending regular time in quiet
prayer will allow you to discern your next steps!
