ABSTRACTTheshouldergirdleiscomposedofoneclavicleandonescapulaandthescapulaslidesontheribcage,withonlymusclesconnectingittothespine.Theonlytruebodyconnectionoftheshouldergirdletotheaxilskeletonisthesternoclavicularjoint.Becauseoftheselimitedconnections,movementsoftheshouldergirdleareverydependentonmuscles,andmuscleimbalancescaneasilyleadtoalignmentproblems.Thefunctionofthescapularmusclesmayberelatedmoretopostureorpreventionofanundesiredscapularmotionsothatstabilityismaintainedthantoproducingvisiblemovement.Inmanyinstanceswithclients,Icandetectlessstabilityonscapularleadstomalfunctionsinperformanceandeverydaylifeaswell.Well-functioningscapularmuscleswillprovidestabilityandefficiency,providingbetterposturesandlessfatigueresultingfrommisalignment.

ConclusionItrytofocusonscapularstabilizationonthisone-hoursession.Activatinglowertrapeziusfrom‘Shrugs’andserratusanteriorfrom‘Upstretch1’and‘Elephant’willgiveherachanceofawaretheshouldermechanismaswellasstretchingtightenedmusclesfrom‘Shoulderstretch.’Bothstrengthandflexibilityplayimportantrolesforbeingwell-conditionedbody.IstronglybelievethatBASIBlockSystemoffersamazingmomentstousealmostwholebodymusclesandmovementswithmind-bodyawareness.Duringthis‘whole’bodysession,Ialsocanpickadditionalorselectiveexercisesforparticularclients.
