Schoology for Parents

Schoology Parent Guide

Parent Accounts in Schoology

Your account is created automatically by importing Parent information from the District database.

You do NOT need a code to “Join” Schoology

If you don’t have a parent Schoology account, there is an issue with your information in the District database and you will need to contact the Administration Building to update that information.

If you are having a problem with your parent account, you can contact Brett Sommer bsommer@ntschools.org from your verified parent email or inside Schoology messaging to his NT Administrator (Sommer) account

Logging in to the Schoology App

• Parents log in through Schoology, com (the blue button)

• This is different than how students log in (students log in through the district website)

• This different method of logging in leads to most of the tech problems

1. Log in with your email – this is the email that is associated with your parent account in Eschool

2. Your password (If you received an email from the Schoology Administrator, there is one in that email.

What you should expect to see (Middle and High

School)

• Teachers are to set the default landing page of their course to the updates page

• Teachers are expected to regularly post on the Updates page.

• Look for clear headings and dates, what students did in class that day(s)

• A reference to assignments and where students can digitally access those files

• These are two examples by a couple of over-achievers from last year ☺.

What you should expect to see (Middle and High School)

• Teachers will create folders, with the most recent placed at the top of the Materials page, that indicate specific date ranges (day, weekly, or bi- weekly) which contain the files for learning activities that have been assigned to students.

• This will help students and parents/guardians to easily locate instructional materials.

• Here are a couple of examples (same two over-achievers)
