1. Brain- the main organ of the nervous system. It is connected to the
spinal cord.
2 .Spinal Cord- a tube of nerves that runs through the spine and
connects all the nerves in the body to the brain.
3 .Nerves- groups of neurons that pass information to the brain.
4. Neurons- nerve cells that send and receive messages from one
another.
5. Cerebrum- the largest part of the brain. It controls thinking,
memories, emotions, movement, and the five senses.
6. Cerebellum- the smaller part of the brain under the cerebrum. It
helps you maintain balance and coordination.
7. Brain Stem- the part of the brain that controls your breathing and
heart rate. It is below the cerebellum.
The nervous system controls all of the other body systems.
Our skull protects our brain, and our backbone protects our spinal cord.
The nervous system controls our bodily function and movement.
