SHTM International Student Exchange

• Call for application in October/November, Semester 1 of Year 2

• SHTM’s and PolyU’s partners offering hospitality and tourism related programmes

• About 40 students each semester will be nominated for outbound exchange

Financial Assistance• You can receive a range of financial assistance via

PolyU International Student Exchange Sponsorship and Exchange Grant to support your living costs during exchange studies overseas

• Such fundings will be offered to all eligible applicants and the amount varies across programmes and institutions

• SHTM also provides additional scholarships for students with financial needs

• Information on other scholarships can be found in Centre STARS’ website: https://www.polyu.edu.hk/stars/scholarships/scholarships-administered-by-centre-stars/

Student’s Responsibilities

Before Exchange Take care of application for exchange required by the host

university Submit your application form, the relevant supporting documents

required by the host institution, SHTM’s Learning Agreement, Exchange Study Plan, and PolyU’s Form AS41a to Ms Karen Ng(Office: TH711) before the specified deadline

Apply for the necessary visa, book the air tickets, arrange for insurance, and pack

Attend the briefing session organized by IAO

During Exchange Be a good ambassador for both SHTM and PolyU Study hard and play hard

Student’s Responsibilities

After Exchange• Obtain an official transcript from your host institution and submit it to

SHTM to process credit transfer.• Submit a 1-minute video and 3 photos about your exchange experience.• Submit the post-exchange reflection report.

It is mandatory to share your exchange experience at the following occasions: SHTM out-bound exchange information sharing session Welcome back and welcome reception for exchange students PolyU Education Information day SHTM orientation for new in-bound exchange students Serve as a “buddy” for new in-bound/outbound exchange students Organise and host activities for in-bound/outbound exchange students SHTM Student Exchange FB page
