GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS

24.0 Credits Required for Graduation

MUST PASS: FCAT2 Reading (concordant SAT/ACT/PERT scores), Algebra 1 EOC, Geometry EOC (30% of grade),

Biology EOC (30% of grade)

2.0 GPA Required

• English – 4.0 credits• Math – 4.0 credits (Including Algebra 1, Geometry)• Science – 3.0 credits (Including Biology)• Social Studies – 3.0 credits (World History 1.0, American History 1.0,

Am. Government .5, Economics .5)• H.O.P.E. – 1.0 credit• Fine Arts/Practical Arts – 1.0 credit• Every student must earn 0.5 credit in a VIRTUAL COURSE

YOU WILL NEED 24 CREDITS TO GRADUATE!

EACH SEMESTER YOU SHOULD EARN 3.5 CREDITS

Testing

The Class of 2015 is responsible for the following exams for graduation….

Algebra 1 EOC (Must Pass)Geometry EOC (30% of final grade)Biology EOC (30% of final grade)FCAT Reading (Level 3 or above OR concordant score for ACT/SAT)

Other tests: PERT is taken Junior year to determine senior class placement. The PERT is also used for dual enrollment class placement. This can be taken a maximum of 2 times.

Early College/Dual Enrollment

Students must complete 10th grade to be eligible

• 3.0 GPA – Letter sent to all eligible students from SPC

• PERT Test – Must have Eligible Scores

(104 – Reading; 113 – Math)

• Application is in Guidance

Must have a cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.0

Must take and pass the PERT and apply to SPC

Invitations were mailed to qualified students

EARLY COLLEGE PROGRAM –Deadline Feb. 11

DUAL ENROLLMENT for the fall -Deadline June 5

Fall DE forms must be submitted before summer break

Forms will not be available for the next 2-3 weeks

BRIGHT FUTURES3 Scholarships Available for State Schools

Students are now required to complete the FAFSA during their last year in high school.

Florida Medallion Scholars Award (FMS) 16 College Prep Credits3.0 weighted (by BF) GPA1170 SAT (Critical Reading and Math) or 26 ACT75 hours approved Community Service

Florida Gold Seal Vocational Scholars Award (GSV)16 core credits plus three Vocational Program credits3.0 weighted (by BF) GPA and 3.5 unweighted GPA in 3 Vocational Courses880 SAT (Critical Reading 440 and Math 440) OR ACT- 17Eng, 18 Rdg, 19 Math30 hours approved Community Service

Volunteer Community Service 1. Print forms from the internet. Go to

www.pcsb.org click on Business at the top and then on Central Printing, then PCS forms. Then 2-Curriculum and Instruction. The forms are numbered 2-2602-1, 2-2602-2,2-2602-3, 2-2602-4.

2. See counselor for approval of forms BEFORE you do your volunteer work. Project must be pre-approved.
