SPECIAL PLACES TRIVIA GAMERULES1. Players roll the dice to determine who will go first. The “turn” passes clock-

wise from that player. 2. A player whose turn it is must earn the right to advance. Before the player

throws the dice, the person to his or her left draws a card from the pile andasks the question matching the category of protected area (indicated by theicon in the square) that the player is currently on. (If the person is on the“Start/Finish” space, the player can choose whichever category he or shewishes before the question is asked.) If the player correctly answers the ques-tion, he or she may throw the dice and advance, clockwise, the number ofspaces indicated. Then the turn passes to the player to the left.

3. A player who arrives at the finish must correctly answer one more question, from the category of his or her choice, before being declared the winner.

Variations • To speed up the game, use two dice. • To include more players, play in teams of two people.

This map displays only a selection of Canada’s many protected areas. Consultpages 23 and 24 of the Teacher’s Guide for more information.
