What is the CloudThe cloud is a set of services and technologies that enable the delivery of computing services over the Internet in real-time, allowing end-users instant access to data and applications from any device with Internet access.

On Wednesday (12/08/2010), the US Department of Agriculture announced it had awarded MSFT a cloud-based application contract for 120K employees to deliver email, collaboration and other online apps. The three-year deal is estimated to be worth $27M, generating $6M in annual cost savings in the process.
