New Grading Scales

• Academic Evaluations– M = Meets– P = Progressing– S = Struggling– N = Not assessed at this time

• Behavioral Evaluations– 4 = Demonstrates all of the time– 3 = Demonstrates most of the time– 2 = Demonstrates some of the time– 1 = Rarely demonstrates this behavior

Galileo Activity

1. Look at the sample report.2. Determine the Academic Evaluation for each

student based on scores.3. Is this a final grade? Can changes be made?4. What about classroom assignments?

Portfolio Activity

1. Evaluate samples of work at each level.2. How could these affect a student’s

achievement level on report cards?

Create a Plan

1. Determine which standards you will assess each quarter.

2. Determine which assessments/activities you will use to assess achievement.
