The Green city project investi gates how the vegetal and tree structure, now variously used as a producti ve resource (wood and fruits), as a means of stabilisati on of the soil or as umbrella in the French colonial boulevards, can now fi nd new applicati ons and meanings. In Vietnam major foresta-ti on programs are conceived and realized for diff erent purposes, such as ecological restorati on and environmental protecti on, anti -erosion tool, creati on of microclimates, storm protecti on, etc… The project explores the role of a green structure to canalize and frame the upcoming wave of moderni-zati on and urbanizati on.

The infrastructure project addresses the unprecedented dynamic of roads and bridge constructi on the region is undergoing today. Guided by a top-down logic and fi nanced by central (nati onal and internati onal) funds, the new road infrastructure primarily responds to economic and symbolic ambiti ons (make an accessible and unifi ed territory). The infrastructure project explores how a bett er integrati on of these roads into their landscape-, environmental- and social- context can lead to (more) qualitati ve development. This questi on is parti cularly relevant in the Vietnamese context where the road infrastructure is used as a shared, polyvalent public space, capable of accommodati ng a multi plicity of uses and users.
