Most people shy away wheneverr we mention our NGO's purpose .stress depression suicide are topics s people avoid . Even psychiatric wings are kept at the back areas of hospitals . Families hide any such problem with their relatives. So we thank you for giving us your time to listen to us.

We belong to an Intrenational Family with our headquarters at London. Affiliated NGO's are spread all over India though functions independantly.

Crisis Intervention for people who are distressed and Suicidal

We have received over 1.5 lac calls till date-12-15 calls/day. 50% of them from age group-15-35

We operate out of premises provided to us by NDMC

Callers contact us on our dedicated helpline or by visiting us, by Email or even writing to us

Currently, we serve for 8 hours on week days and 12 hours on weekends; eventual aim- 24 hours

7 days a week; 365 days a year – as “suicide” observes no holidays

Services are absolutely free

“We” – a bunch of 30 odd volunteers Carefully selected and trained – only 2%

make it Chosen for their sensitivity and not for their

personal backgrounds or professional credentials, if any

Choose to remain completely Anonymous Nothing beyond first name Spotlight remains on the Caller No social badge is worn for working at

im sure were all familiar with the word Stress. Some of its origins/causes are:-

One person attempts Suicide in Delhi – every minuteEvery 10th slide – a person dies of suicide

What can stress lead to?

We contribute to Suicide Prevention not just by being the safety valve for people who are in the midst of action…

But also by talking to People early on so that their despair and distress does not build-up to suicidal feelings

We “Befriend” our callers who contact us Befriending a Suicidal involves Active Listening

Focus on Feelings not just Facts No Judgments – why is he what is he? No Advices for we have none to offer and he

does not need it from us . In absolute confidence- we do not share their

stories with any body- friends and families included

With a luxury of Time – which is becoming rarer With no Sympathy- only Empathy We cannot change the content of their lives but

certainly let them discover an alternate context.

People Commit Suicide without giving any warning

It is in the genes It is only a curse of the Rich;

not so much the bane of the Poor

They are Mentally ill People who attempt Suicide

really want to die It is gender skewed- more in

women More attempts in daytime

Don’t worry, you’ll be alright If it gets so bad, just say a little prayer and go to bed Just Chill! It is quite simple, all you need to do is…… Just try and pull yourself together Time is the best healer I know you miss him, but don’t worry you’ll get over it Whatever happens, happens for the good There are a lot of people worse off than you, take

I only want to be accepted….with my fears…with my confusions…with my blocks…with my incoherence…not that I want to die…
