    • The Nile River

flooded every fall. The flooding produces rich soil and fertile crops.

Boundaries Of Ancient Egypt

• The ancient Egyptians had many natural boundaries. There were deserts to the east and west, and there were mountains to the south. Of course, the Nile was the boundary to the north.

• The Nile River was and still is nicknamed the “Giver and Taker of Life” The ancient Egyptians thought of the Nile as a god, and they thought of the hippos as the devil.
