Pistheinlet. Theairpassesthepiston1andcon�nuesthroughtheseat. Theairflow,passingthepiston,issloweddownbymeansofsomelengthwisegrooves3ontheoutersideofthepiston. If the flow is too high, the air cannot pass thepiston quickly enough, and the piston will bepressedagainstthespring2towardstheseat.Theclosingpoint is shown in the table above. If thevalue indicated isexceeded,e.g. if thehosesud-denlybreaks,theairsupply isautoma�callyshutoff.

All the following measurement values (fl ow for closing functi on) apply for a HoseGuard® (hose breakagesafetydevice)chargedwiththeappropriatepressureP1andwithafreePaoutlet.If a component is fi tt ed aft er the HoseGuard® which reduces the fl ow performance (e.g. linkage, screwfi�ng,hoseetc.),itispossiblethattherequiredflowforthede-finedclosingpointisnolonger att ained and that the HoseGuard® will not close.Inthiscasetheapplica�onmustbeappropriatelytested.Itispossiblethatanothercomponentmay have to be selected aft er the HoseGuard®, or a smaller HoseGuard®, depending on the test result.
