We are looking for partners in

reserach and applications of

nanotechnologies,Fe nanoparticles,

Sn nanowires

Research :

general fields of present research:• microstructure and properties of

steels and non-ferrous metals• corrosion science of metals • development of testing methods

of materials• optimisation and application of

heat treatment of metals• electron microscopy and

microanalyses of materials

Our reserach activities which come under

themes of FP6 and FP7:

• nanoparticles: Fe nanospheroids and Fe nanowires, Sn nanowires (applied for project)

• ultrafine-grained materials (ECAP)

• nanoidentation testing of materials (applied for project)

• Cu based shape memory alloys

Fe nanoparticlesDevelopment of technologie for production of Fe spherical nanoparticels in dimension range from 10 to 200nm with small or no oxide layer on the surface.

Idea of new technology is based on precipitation of iron from solid solutions with small or no solubility of Fe at room temperature. At present time we are able to produce small amounts of Fe particles with mean diameter in range 10-200nm.

Also we are developing technology for changing shape of particles from spheroids to elipsoids.

Applications of Fe nanoparticles?

Medicin (cancer therapy)

Magnetic media

Magnetic liquids

Fillers

Catalyses etc.

Reserach on production of Sn nanowires

The reserch is based on the same phenomenon of Sn whiskers formation as in cases of Pb free solders known in electrotechnics

A few examples:in situ growth of whiskers- nano or micro wires on surface of metallographic polished sample in time range of few month
