The Crocodile Hunter!

Steve Irwin was from Queensland, Australia.

Queensland

Australia has many dangerous animals like spiders, snakes, sharks and many more.

He grew up living on a zoo!

He was not afraid of wild animals because he saw them every day.

l He wrestled his first crocodile when he was 9 years old!

He became known for his skills with animals.

l He was very good at catching many Australian animals, especially dangerous ones.

l He was also good at teaching people about Australia's native wildlife (野生动物 ).

Australia has fantastic wildlife!

He always wore the same clothes!

l He was known for wearing brown shorts, boots and a shirt.

He became famous all over the world when America noticed him.

Going to America...

l He became very famous in the United States.

His wife was an American.

Terri Irwin is also very famous for working with him and their animals.

He had two children, Bindi and Bob Irwin.

His TV show, “the Crocodile Hunter”, became very popular in the United States.

l He fit the stereotype (鉛板 ) many people have of Australians (outdoors-loving, rough, fighting alligators, snakes, slightly crazy and very optimistic (樂觀 ).

l This is Steve Irwin's daughter today.

Australia Zoo

l His business did very well and he became quite rich.

His TV show was watched by 500 million people each week.

l He became a real Australian icon (标志性的 ).

He taught the world a new word:

He taught people to love and care for nature, animals and our planet.

He also worked with sharks!

Sadly, he no longer is with us.l He was diving with stingrays in 2006 and was killed by a sting to his heart.

The whole world was saddened at his death.

To mourn the death of a great man, we lowered the flag to halfmast.

His Statue

l Steve Irwin was a true Aussie legend, a good man. He had a good life and taught the world about the wonders of nature.

l “It is better to die doing what you love than to live doing what you hate!”
