The westbound Southwestern Limited was roll-ing through Daleville when this photo was madein 1954 — 17 years before passenger service wasdiscontinued on the line. The train was No. 11,later 311, and was on New York Central lines,afterwards Penn Central and now Conrail. JohnW. Hatcher, retired assistant ticket agent at

Union Station, reports the last passenger trainran Friday, April 30, 1971. The Southwesternspassing through Muncie operated between NewYork City and St. Louis. The Daleville station wasrazed several years ago. Carl Wasson for manyyears was the agent and on retiring carried mailto and from trains. (Star Photo by Dick Greene)
