THE GRASS IS ALWAYS GREENER WHERE YOU

WATER IT!

“Running water from a well…” (Proverbs 5:15) “A blessed fountain” (Proverbs 5:18)

Rejoicing in the wife or husband of “our youth.”(Proverbs 5:18)

Shy away from fixating on and lusting after the

wrong things

“…The lips of an adulteress drip honey and her speech is smoother than oil -- but in the end she is bitter as gall, sharp as a

double-edged sword. Her feet go down to death; her steps lead straight to the

grave…” (Proverbs 5:3-5)

“Why be captivated…by an adulteress? Why embrace the bosom of another man’s

wife…” (Proverbs 5:20)

“You have heard that it was said, ‘Do not commit adultery.’ But I tell you that anyone who looks at a

woman lustfully has already committed adultery with his heart…” (Matthew 5:27-28)

Develop a repertoire of delightful, romantic

disciplines

Individuals in a marriage, and marriages overall “…die for lack of discipline…” (Proverbs 5:23) Now an

obvious lack of discipline is committing physical or mental adultery. But I

contend marriages also die - because of a lack of other disciplines - positive,

proactive disciplines.

A “…love as powerful death, bursting into flame, burning

like a raging fire.”(Song of Solomon 8:6)

Draw Upon The Lord As The Ultimate Source Of Nurturing, Living

Water.

“…A man’s ways are in the full view of the Lord and he

examines all his paths…”(Proverbs 5:21)

“The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your

frame. You will be like a well-watered garden; like a spring whose waters never fail.

(Isaiah 58:11)

“…The spring of living water… digging your own cisterns, broken cisterns that cannot hold

water…”(Jeremiah 2:13)

“The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your

frame. You will be like a well-watered garden; like a spring whose waters never fail.

(Isaiah 58:11)
