Clean Air Strategy

• Voluntary program to decrease air pollutants in the Port District

via all-encompassing improvements to mobile sources,

equipment, and facilities, all while maintaining operational

efficiency and effectiveness.

• Reduce impacts on health and the environment

• Reduce contribution to greenhouse gas emissions

• Multiple actions underway to “green” rail, cargo handling

equipment, vessels, trucks, and other assets

• In 2014, we reported an average decrease 41.5% reduction in

criteria air pollutants and 37.3% all pollutants, despite 13% cargo

increase 06-14
