DESCRIPTION

One day you wake up and you your throat hurts a little bit. Instead of just brushing it off or asking an actual medical professional, you decide to take things into your own hands and use the power of the internet. Next thing you know, you are writing up a will because you are convinced you’re dying of cancer. This is just one of the issues with sites such as WebMD. The overall problem with it, is the fact that although it is a good idea in theory to help people improve their health, it is actually ending up making people less healthy.

One day you wake up and you your throat hurts a little bit.

One day you wake up and you your throat hurts a little bit.

Instead of just brushing it off or asking an actual medical professional,

One day you wake up and you your throat hurts a little bit.

Instead of just brushing it off or asking an actual medical professional,

you decide to take things into your own hands and use the

power of the internet.

Next thing you know, you are writing up a will because you are convinced you’re dying of cancer.

This is just one of the issues with sites such

as WebMD.

The overall problem with it, is the fact that although it is a good idea in theory to help

people improve their health,

The overall problem with it, is the fact that although it is a good idea in theory to help

people improve their health,

it is actually ending up making people less healthy.

The idea is that people will be able to figure out their own problems,

The idea is that people will be able to figure out their own problems,

leaving less busy work to the doctors that should be spending their time

more wisely.

When in reality,

When in reality,

its making those people with common colds and other everyday ailments believe

there is something seriously wrong,

When in reality,

its making those people with common colds and other everyday ailments believe

there is something seriously wrong,

wasting time, and anxiety.

Rather than spending hours trying to figure out what’s wrong,

Rather than spending hours trying to figure out what’s wrong,

Be proactive and apply for health insurance, or urge your place of

employment to provide benefits.

On the other hand,

On the other hand,

if there is something seriously wrong,

On the other hand,

if there is something seriously wrong,

all that can happen from turning to the internet is the

condition getting worse while you sit there and type away.

Even if you do come to a somewhat accurate conclusion

for checking your symptoms online, there’s no way to be sure.

And even if you are,

And even if you are,

then what do you do?

You still need medical attention, right?

So just save yourself time and anxiety by seeing a

professional in the first place.

You still need medical attention, right?

Not to mention, the medical information that is accessible by the public online is

not necessarily trust worthy.

Most of the contributors are not even close to being doctors, let alone fully-licensed, practicing medical experts.

The general consensus with WebMD and other similar sites is

that the diagnoses for typical symptoms are way over the top.

Next time something doesn’t seem right;

Next time something doesn’t seem right;

don’t even think twice about trying to solve the issue using the internet.

In fact, don’t waste your time even thinking once!

Take yourself to the doctor.

In fact, don’t waste your time even thinking once!
