TRANSCRIPT

“The Ransom of Red Chief” is written in the first person perspective. Apply your knowledge of third person perspectives by creating a comic strip that employs a third person limited or third person omniscient perspective. Changing the perspective of this story allows the reader to enjoy the thoughts and feelings of Red Chief, Sam, Mr. Dorsett (or all of the above), so have fun with this!

Directions

1. Choose a scene from the story that you would like to tell from a different perspective.  2. Create a six frame comic strip that contains dialogue (word bubbles) and narration (square narration boxes).

3. Your comic strip should be narrated using one of the

following perspectives:

• third-person limited • third-person

omniscient.

Requirements

4. Make an effort. If you are not good at drawing, create good storylines. You can make characters out of shapes (squares or circles) if you prefer. NO stick men! 5. When finished, highlight the thoughts and feelings of each character in a different color.

For example, if your comic strip is in third person omniscient, you will highlight the thoughts of one character in yellow and a different character in pink.
