Pastor’s Corner
There are some exciting things happening in August you don’t want to miss!
August 7: Communion during morning worship followed by our Business Meeting immediately after worship.
August 14: Blessing of the Back Packs! Have your kids bring their back packs (teachers and others can bring totes, etc.) and let’s have a special prayer for those returning to school on August 15.
August 15: This is the first day of school in Amherst County. Let’s commit to a special day of prayer for our county as a new year begins!
August 28: During morning worship we will license Jaime Fitzgerald to the Gospel Ministry! This is the next step before Ordination that will occur near her graduation from seminary. Join Jaime as we worship and celebrate together what God is doing in her life. My sermon that morning will not only be a challenge for her, but for all of us who seek to serve God.
There are many other exciting activities that will be taking place and you can read about them in this and upcoming newsletters and online. Fall is upon us and that means we will back in the full swing of ministry.
One final challenge– Fall is a new start for church ministry and life. So why not make this a new start to get into (or back) Sunday School!
Blessings, Derik

This year, the Union Music service is at our church, RMBC, August 28 at 7:00 p.m. The money raised at the service will be given to Helping Hands Ministry of Madison Heights!
On August 10th at 7:15 PM, the youth are hosting a preview night for the children who will be moving up to youth in the fall. Parents and the new youth are invited to come to the youth room for pizza and games. There will also be an informational session for parents.

Dear RMBC,
Thank you so much for the lovely Bible that you gave me in celebration of my high school graduation. Thank you so much for your support during this pivotal time in my life. Hopefully I will be able to come and visit from UVA! Sincerely, Marron Baker
Thank you for the flowers, prayers, and visits! Proud to be part of Randolph Memorial Baptist Church! Love, Ann Hall
Dear Friends, Sorry I can’t be there with you. I am without my hearing aid now, so I can’t hear you, but I am thinking of you just the same. I hope to be back by the first of September. I am hoping to hear then. Love, June Bottoms
Thank You!
