their lovely sister Miss Daisy Nurney of Suffolk Va They were asassisted by Mr and Mrs CliftonCamp and this party was decidedly anovel and delightful one There werefive tables in the parlor library andon the veranda At the head tablethe couples tested their skill at stickpeanuts at the second table theywere required to sew on buttons asrapidly as possible at the third tablethe childhood of the contestants wasvividly recalled by tee cutting out ofpretty paper dolls j at at the fourthtable from the word salmagundi asmany other words as possible had tobe made and at the foot table aneedle threading contest was mostexciting These diversions werevery entertaining and were lots of

was very badly overgrown withweeds and bushes the fences were inbad repair and with only a few ex¬

ceptions the lots were very poorlykept Quite a number of the ladies-

of Ocala decided to organize theGreenwood Cemetery Aassociation-for the purpose of improving andbeautifying the cemetery This was j

done and the members of the organizztion went immediately to work andthey have accomplished wondersThey have been very materially aidedby the stockholders of Greenwoodwhose cooperation in this work hasbeen most generous and greatly ap¬

preciated-The association besides taking care

of the general cemetery also have incharge the care of individual lots andare thus enabled to have the workdone more cheaply than if each lotowner had his lot kept up separately

The latest improvement has been inhaving the main drivewavs pavedThe money for this work was obtain-ed

from several entertainments recently given and to which the citi ¬

zens of Ocala contributed very liber ¬

ally The committee who had thispaving done met with the stockhol ¬

ders and were advised by them and j

Hooked by a Vicious CowMr Washburn a well known citi¬

zen of Belleview was in his cow lotFriday and in attempting to sep¬

arate the cow from her calf the ani¬

mal became suddenly vicious andmade an attack upon him hooking-him in the eye and while the eyemiraculously escaped being torn fromits socket his skull was fractured

MrrWashburn did not know thathe was so badly hurt and accom¬

panied by his wife drove into Ocala-

to have his eye dressed An exami ¬

nation disclosed the fact as abovestated that his skull was fractured-

and two pieces of bone an inch inlength were removed

The operation was a most delicate-one and was performed by Drs EVan Hood and A L Izlar
