salmagundi party on Friday evening in honor of their lovely sister Miss Daisy Nur ney of Suffolk Va They were as assisted by Mr and Mrs Clifton Camp and this party was decidedly a novel and delightful one There were five tables in the parlor library and on the veranda At the head table the couples tested their skill at stick peanuts at the second table they were required to sew on buttons as rapidly as possible at the third table the childhood of the contestants was vividly recalled by tee cutting out of pretty paper dolls j at at the fourth table from the word salmagundi as many other words as possible had to be made and at the foot table a needle threading contest was most exciting These diversions were very entertaining and were lots of funDr H M Taylor proved himself the most skillful contestant among the gentlemen and he was awarded with a very attractive ash tray The honors among the ladies were even between Miss Edith Piatt and Miss Sara Harris The prize a beautiful the Latfies Cemetery Assciation Two years ago Greenwood Ceme- tery ¬ was very badly overgrown with weeds and bushes the fences were in bad repair and with only a few ex ¬ ceptions the lots were very poorly kept Quite a number of the ladies- of Ocala decided to organize the Greenwood Cemetery Aassociation- for the purpose of improving and beautifying the cemetery This was j done and the members of the organi zztion went immediately to work and they have accomplished wonders They have been very materially aided by the stockholders of Greenwood whose cooperation in this work has been most generous and greatly ap ¬ preciated- The association besides taking care of the general cemetery also have in charge the care of individual lots and are thus enabled to have the work done more cheaply than if each lot owner had his lot kept up separately The latest improvement has been in having the main drivewavs paved The money for this work was obtain- ed ¬ from several entertainments re cently given and to which the citi ¬ zens of Ocala contributed very liber ¬ ally The committee who had this paving done met with the stockhol ¬ ders and were advised by them and j the work was done exactly according i to contract I The splendid work that is being I done by the ladies cemetery associa ¬ tion should receive the heartiest I praise and cooperation of our citi- zens ¬ I The work done by them is worthy of emulation and they cert I t ti n1Yv deserve the success that is i I crowning their efforts I- I Their plans for the future are to f have more walks and drive ways t paved and to plant beautiful trees I and shrubs and they hope that the lot owners will cut down as few trees as possible and do all that they can to help then in this very praiseworthy- work I One Dollar Saved was very badly overgrown withweeds and bushes the fences were inbad repair and with only a few ex¬

ceptions the lots were very poorlykept Quite a number of the ladies-

of Ocala decided to organize theGreenwood Cemetery Aassociation-for the purpose of improving andbeautifying the cemetery This was j

done and the members of the organizztion went immediately to work andthey have accomplished wondersThey have been very materially aidedby the stockholders of Greenwoodwhose cooperation in this work hasbeen most generous and greatly ap¬

preciated-The association besides taking care

of the general cemetery also have incharge the care of individual lots andare thus enabled to have the workdone more cheaply than if each lotowner had his lot kept up separately

The latest improvement has been inhaving the main drivewavs pavedThe money for this work was obtain-ed

from several entertainments recently given and to which the citi ¬

zens of Ocala contributed very liber ¬

ally The committee who had thispaving done met with the stockhol ¬

ders and were advised by them and j

the work was done exactly accordingi to contractI The splendid work that is beingI done by the ladies cemetery associa ¬

tion should receive the heartiestI praise and cooperation of our citi-zens

zen of Belleview was in his cow lotFriday and in attempting to sep¬

arate the cow from her calf the ani¬

mal became suddenly vicious andmade an attack upon him hooking-him in the eye and while the eyemiraculously escaped being torn fromits socket his skull was fractured

MrrWashburn did not know thathe was so badly hurt and accom¬

panied by his wife drove into Ocala-

to have his eye dressed An exami ¬

nation disclosed the fact as abovestated that his skull was fractured-

and two pieces of bone an inch inlength were removed

The operation was a most delicate-one and was performed by Drs EVan Hood and A L Izlar
