TRANSCRIPT
• After defining the Desired Future Condition and
providing context for the specific community, a CWPP
undertakes an assessment of the community.
Timberline View Estates
• An assessment includes looking at the vegetation
within, and surrounding, the community, as well as the
vulnerability of structures within the community.
• The assessment of existing conditions leads to
recommendations for improvement – or risk reduction.
• Structure Assessments:
• Criteria is based on scientific tests and evidence
from past fires.
• Reducing wildfire risk is a choice, and responsibility, of
the homeowner.
• Intent is to identify and educate homeowners on the ways
to reduce their wildfire risk.
• Relative Risk = compared to others in a given area
• Not Absolute = will survive / will burn
Timberline View Estates
• Results are for EDUCATIONAL purposes – to
inform homeowners where vulnerabilities exist and
provide mitigation options to reduce risk.
