3. Installation guide
3.1 Preparation
Set up the power supply (12 - 48 V DC). Ensure that the device can work under the specified environmental condi-tions (operating temperature: -25 – +70 °C, humidity: 5 – 95 % relative humidity). The device should not be exposed to direct sunlight and it should be installed away from heat sources and environments with strong electromagnetic interference. The router is mounted on a DIN rail (mounting rail).
3.2 Mounting the device
Mounting rail:Select a position on the rail with enough space. Then, position the upper part of the DIN rail mount on the mounting rail. Following this, press the lower side of the DIN rail mount down until the device is locked. This is shown in this image:
In order to remove it, press the device from top to bottom and then pull the underside of the device from the DIN rail (see illustration).

4. SIM card installation
The TK800 supports dual SIM. For insertion of the card, press the yellow “Eject” button on the top of the device, e.g. with a small screwdriver. The respective SIM card slot will be pushed out. Then, insert the SIM card as shown in the illustration.
5. Antenna installation
Connect the antennas to the SMA connectors and tighten the outer fixing on the antenna cable until the connection is tight.
!The TK800 has two antenna connectors, which are labeled ANT and AUX. The ANT port is used for data transmission, while the AUX port is only used to stabilize the signal. Therefore, AUX cannot transmit data and it cannot be used separately. Please use the ANT port and, should you have poor signal strength, connect a second antenna to the AUX port.

6. Power supply installation
Remove the port block from the top of the router. Unscrew the relevant screws on the port block and thread wires to the relevant ports. The ports are marked accordingly on the top of the router. Then, retighten the screws and plug the port block back into the router.
In order to ground the device, use the grounding screw on the device.
7. Cable connection
Connect the router to the PC via network cables.
8. Connection of the serial interfaces and I/Os
In order to connect the serial interfaces and I/Os, a terminal block can be found on the front panel of the device. In-dividual contacts for this are labeled on the front panel of the device. Connect the lines to their corresponding labels. Here, the “IN” contact represents the digital input, and the output contact is labeled “Relay”. “COM” represents the ground. During installation, please unplug the terminal block from the device and connect the individual wires to the corresponding ports. Then, plug the terminal block back into the device.
! In order to eliminate interference with electromagnetic effects, the casing of the router must be grounded using the grounding screw.
! This section only describes routers with serial interface and I/O versions TK80xx-EX0.

9. Starting up the router
9.1 Automatic configuration (DHCP)
Configure the PC to act as a DHCP client (automatically obtain IP address). Connect the PC to the FE0/1 or FE0/2 port with a network cable. In this way, the IP address, default gateway, and DNS server are assigned by the router to the PC. The following image shows the configuration sequence through DHCP on a PC running a Windows 7 operating system and using the FE0/1 or FE0/2 port.
After configuring the PC IP address and the router connection, open a web browser and type “http://192.168.2.1” into the address bar field. After pressing the “Enter” key, a pop-up appears as the router login page. Enter the username (default: “adm”) and the password (default: “123456”) and confirm by pressing “Enter”. You will now be redirected to the configuration page. You can now configure the router to your requirements.
In order to check that you are connected to the Internet, select “Network” „Cellular“ „Status“ in the naviga-tion panel. From here, you can see the cellular radio unit of the router. As an alternative, you can simply open a web page in your browser.

Configure your PC so that it is in the same subnet as the router (192.168.2.1). The default subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. The following image shows the process for configuring the IP address on a PC running a Windows 7 operating sys-tem.

12.1 Automatic monitoring of the router
Watchdog monitors the router in regards to its Internet connection. The router even checks if the Internet connection is established. For this reason, it sends ICMP packets to an individually defined server (ICMP detection server). If this query fails, the router will firstly start up a new dial-up automatically, then restart the modem, and if necessary, reboot the entire system.Watchdog provides a reliable Internet connection in the mobile network. This ensures that the router is almost always available.

13.1 Accessing connected devices over the Internet
In order to access devices over the Internet, which are connected to the Welotec router, you can use port mapping or port forwarding. This is configured in the TK800 router using NAT rules.
13. Port mapping / Port forwarding
! These instructions apply to all TK800 routers with firmware 1.0.0.r5034 or later.
! For port mapping, you need a public IP address on the mobile network (public IP). Please ask your network operator or service provider if necessary!
The following image shows the application example:
Explanation:
Welotec router:LAN IP address: 192.168.2.1Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0
IP camera:LAN IP address: 192.168.2.2Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0Default gateway: 192.168.2.1
The IP camera has a user interface that can be obtained through a web browser at http://192.168.2.2 (NB: http protocol is TCP Port 80).

13.2 Instructions for port mapping
1) Go to the Firewall menu, then to the NAT sub-item
2) Now select Add to add a new NAT rule

3) Enter the data as shown in the example
4) Then, the NAT rule appears as shown below in the table on Network Address Translation (NAT) Rules.
The new rule is now active. The corresponding services restart and the port mapping is completely set up.
In order to achieve an efficient port mapping, it is helpful to check the settings of the connected devices in advance. The following checklist is helpful (following the example above):
• Does the camera have the IP address 192.168.2.2?• Does this respond to “ping 192.168.2.2”?• Is the camera web interface reachable via http://192.168.2.2?• Is the camera configured with the Welotec router as its standard gateway (192.168.2.1)?

14.1 Status query / restart
1) Go to the Network menu item and then to the SMS sub-item
2) Click on the Enable checkbox to turn on the function
3) Enter the telephone number into the SMS Access Control table, which SMS messages are allowed to be sent to the router and enter permit as an action.
An SMS containing show will now be sent to the mobile phone number of the router, and the router sends its current status as a response.
14. SMS Functions
The router restarts when a SMS with the message reboot is sent to it. You can also follow this process in the router log.
The TK800 is reachable from outside via SMS and responds to various commands that are sent via SMS. It can query the status of the device, startup/stop the mobile connection or restart the device.

14.2 Enable or disable the Internet connection
After successfully completing the configuration, you can also control the Internet connection of the router via SMS. However, it is required that the router is set to “Connect On Demand”!
1) Go to the Network menu item, then to the Cellular sub-item
2) Now select the Cellular tab
3) Here you select the Connect On Demand mode from the Connection Mode and activate the field Triggered by SMS.
Now you can send the following commands to the router via SMS:
cellular 1 ppp down - disables the Internet connection
cellular 1 ppp up - enables the Internet connection
