Rahul Gandhi today took onPrime Minister Narendra Modiand West Bengal Chief MinisterMamata Banerjee, saying bothmake promises but fail to fulfillthem.

The Congress Vice Presidentalso targeted the TrinamoolCongres supremo over corruptionin the state in the light of theSarada scam and the Narada stingoperation against her party leaders.

"Mamataji had promised towipe out corruption in the state.But when corruption took place infront of her, she took no action,"Gandhi said addressing electionrallies in Raghunathgunj andKandi in Murshidabad district. Infact, the party had gone fromSarada scam to Narada scam, headded.

Referring to the sting opera-tion against TMC leaders, hesaid again no action was taken

in Narada against them by her."During election time now,

Mamataji said she will takeaction but why no action wastaken earlier," he asked.

Gandhi said Mamata's inabili-ty to keep her promises promptedCongress to fight against her inthe Assembly polls.

"Five years back Congresshad supported TMC as Mamatajipromised to bring paribartan(change), usher in development,give employment to the youth andimprove law and order.

But a day after becomingchief minister, Mamataji hadchanged and forgot the promisesmade to Congress and the peo-ple of the state," he said duringan election meeting here.

"Mamataji had promised to setup factories and provide jobs tothe youth who are going to otherstates. But no factories were setup. So we did not support her. Weare fighting to defeat her," he said.

He said the prime ministerhad coined 'Make in India' slo-gan with a promise that theyouth will get employment butthere were no signs of that.

"The people have voted himbut no employment was given tothe youth. Mamataji also prom-ised to give employment to 70lakh people but nothing hasbeen done," he said and askedthe crowd, "Is there a single per-son who got jobs"?

Gandhi also charged thatboth Modi and Mamata did notdo anything for the farmers.

Referring to the Congress-Left alliance, Gandhi said,"When our alliance governmentwill come after the election, itwill take action against thosewho indulged in corruption,who were involved in Saradhascam.(PTI)
