Melt-Away – design project

Each and every winter in cold climates, snow and ice on everything from highways to walkways poses danger to individuals. Products have been developed to mitigate the impact of icy conditions on various surfaces with different degrees of effectiveness. How do we balance environmental concerns and the corrosiveness of these products with the benefits of their application?

The Problem

Design a deicing product that includes a blend of chemical compounds and market it through a commercial.

The Challenge Product Presentation

1. Create a product label describing the chemical composition of the deicer along with its performance expectations.

2. Present a 60 second video commercial of the deicing product.

3. Present the research that supports the claims of the product.
