MY NAME IS PAULAand I love mycommunity. Besides my monthlypayroll deduction, Ivolunteer my timewith United Way ofNorthern Arizona, helping families andindividuals succeed.

Today in our community, too many people are walkinga tightrope—barely getting by, with little ability tosave for college, a home or retirement.

That’s why I help hard-working families with theirtaxes. I make sure they take advantage of the EarnedIncome Tax Credit.

When people come out ahead, I like to ask them whatthey’re going to do their refund. One mom told meshe was going to use her refund to move out of a shel-ter and into a stable apartment.

I can’t tell you how that made me feel. I know that byhelping my community, I’m making it a better place tolive…and that’s good for everybody.

Sharing my resources and talents, that’s “how I LIVEUNITED.”
