Texas in one of those states that just stands out from all of the others. The slogan “everything is bigger in Texas” is true to every degree, and a fact for any Texan.

- Spanish explorers first visited the area in the 16th and 17th centuries.

- Americans, led by Stephen F. Austin, began to settle along the Brazos River in 1821.

- In 1835,there was military conflict between Mexico’s Government and Texas Colonist, which is known as the Texas Revolution.

- In 1845, Texas was admitted to the Union as the 28th state.

Texas is located in the west south-central US. It is bordered by Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana,New Mexico, and the Gulf of Mexico.
