Frequently Asked QuestionsWhat tools can Cindex repair?

Any type of carbide or ceramic insertable tooling from such manufacturers as Sandvick, Kennametal, Waukesha, Ingersoll, Valenite, Carboloy, Metcut, Iscar, Mitsubishi, Komet and TRW to name just a few.

Will the repaired tool last like a new tool?

Yes, as long as the guy who smashed it the first time doesn’t do it again. Generally new tools are around 40 Rockwell. They key is in the welding. We primarily TIG weld with various filler metals that most closely relate to the original metal. To say repaired tools are soft is just inaccurate as long as it is welded correctly.

Why Should I Choose Cindex?

Since 1960 all we have ever done is Indexable Tool Repair. We we do not sell components, we do not grind or sharpen tooling. We just concentrate on being the absolute best tool repair company in the country. We have specialized machinery, the latest technology and the experienced professionals that are required to repair your valuable tooling.

Enter Cindex Technology

In business for over 55 years and with over 150 years of experience in the indexable tool repair, there is little that the experts at Cindex have not seen. It all begins with the proper preparation. Each tool is blasted clean prior to welding. A clean tool will help alleviate any porosity once its been welded. Cindex primarily TIG welds with various filler metals that most closely relate to the original tool steel.

Completed tools are inspected, finished, black oxided, packed and shipped back to you using any method of shipping you choose, all within 4 weeks.

…if it’s indexable,It’s Cindexable!

Company History

Cindex Industries, Inc. was founded in 1960 as the country’s first exclusive indexable tool repair facility. With the proliferation of CNC technology an opportunity to repair damaged indexable tooling was realized, and through years of experimentation and determination the science of tool repair was established.

The name Cindex is derived from the term SINTERED “meaning to bond together partially without melting” (in this case Tungsten and Cobalt), and ‘INDEXABLE,” for the type of tooling being repaired. The S on sintered was changed to C, giving the company its original name of Cindex Carbide Company. In 1962, Cindex Carbide Company was incorporated and became Cindex Industries, Inc., as it is known today.
