US WEEKLY WEATHER OUTLOOK

• May 29–June 4: Sweet Summertime Continues in the East, While TemperaturesModerateAcrossthePlains.BonnieBringsHeavyRainasSheExitstheEastCoast.

• June 5–11: Cooler Temperatures than Last Year Return for Most of North America,SofteningSeasonalComps.ShowersandStormsExpectedintheEastandtheWest.

US:WEEKOFMAY29–JUNE4Retail implications:Heat in the Eastwill drive seasonal demand, but theWestwill face lessfavorabletemperatures.

• Last year, this week was the coolest since 2009: Severeweather focused in the Rockies, Northern Plains andMidwest.

• Bonnievoyage:TropicalDepressionBonniewillcrawlalongtheCarolinacoastearly in theweek, spreadingheavy rainnorthward to New England. Meanwhile, rain andthunderstorms will slowly move across the Central US,exacerbating flooding in Texas. The West will remainrelativelydry.

• An East-West split:HotandhumidconditionswillblankettheEastearly intheweek,witha late-weekfrontbringingtemperaturesbackdowntonormal.TheWestwillstartoutcooler than last year, but temperatures will climb abovenormalandlastyearbymidweek.Thecoolertemperatureswillmove across theRockies and settle into the SouthernPlains,leavingtheregioncoolerthanlastyear.

US:WEEKOFJUNE5–11

Retail implications: Cool conditions in the Eastwill discourageseasonalproductdemand,whilethoseintheWestcanstaymoreoptimistic,thankstothewarmertemperaturesintheregion.

• Lastyear,thisweekwasthewarmestin55years:Rainfallwas the least since 2012, although still above normal.Severe weather was focused from the South CentralregionintotheNortheast.

• Cool runnings: Cooler-than-normal temperatures willcover the South Central region at the beginning of theweek, and spread throughout the East as the weekprogresses. Warmer-than-normal temperatures willextend fromtheWest into theNorthernPlains,althoughtheywillmoderatethroughouttheweek.

• Summertime showers:MuchoftheCentralUSwillseeabreak fromheavy rainand severe storms,while theEastwillseelightshowersandisolatedthunderstormsearlyinthe week. Scattered storms are anticipated in theSouthern Rockies, and the heaviest rain is expectedthroughoutFlorida.

• Plenty of rain: A very slow-moving front will generatewidespread rain and thunder for themajority ofmainlandEurope. Drier conditions are expected across the northerntierandtheMediterraneanBasin.

• A largelysettledweek:Lightrainwill lingeracrosstheEastearly in the week and a front will cause light showers inNorthernBritain.
